The same principles apply to branding that are used in design but expanded to fit a larger context. Branding is more than just an engaging logo, fashionable website and clever collateral piece. Its the subtle and consistent application of visual style, personality, color and confident voice. When tastefully applied in a consistent manner, builds emotional equity with an audience about a product, a company, or even an individual. And its this subtle discipline that I’ve worked my career to master.

The Brand Pyramid shows the brand ecosystem at the tip of brand iceberg. Executing the brand’s marketing touchpoints well will take you far, but doing so on top of a solid strategic foundation will last forever. Although a lot of this foundation takes strong audience research and a good competitive analysis, a lot of branding can be derived from a keen sense of the branding craft, based on years of experience.
